Hand Signals

Non-verbal cues for common behaviors

Dog touching owner's hand

Non-verbal cues are useful in so many ways. If you are on a call and can't speak, use a hand signal to quiet your dog or place him in a down stay in his place. Of course, these work for deaf dogs, but they are just as effective for hearing dogs too.

Most Common Hand Signals

Below are the most common hand signals we will use with your dog. They won't work until your dog has been trained with the associated behavior. If you are not sure if your dog is ready to use one of these, reach out.
